Quantum RA
Quantum is a technology partnership that began in 1974 as a vehicle for Professor James Abbondanza to work as a consultant. His research and development efforts resulted in requests for planning assistance, consultations and presentations from both the public and private sectors including, Los Alamos Research Laboratories, Los Alamos, New Mexico; NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA; The Federal Bureau of Investigation Training Academy, Quantico, Virginia; Amatil, Sydney, Australia; The Centers for Disease Control, Atlanta, Georgia; The American Public Health Association, Washington, D.C.; The Department of Corrections, Bermuda; Direction Technology, Taichung, Taiwan; Triomphe, Paris, France; and many others

About ten years ago, Jim decided that in order to meet future technology challenges, Quantum must develop a coherent plan targeting technology growth areas. He decided to access the many resources available to him as a senior faculty member of SUNY (State University of New York). These included world-class experts in many fields with whom Jim had shared professional relationships over the years. Taking into account Quantum's skills and resources, the think-tank targeted the burgeoning Fitness and Wellness market. A strategic plan was developed for capturing segments of those markets by developing technologies that integrate Fitness and Wellness into multimedia based training using television, computers and the Internet.

With access to an experienced core of engineering talent who had supported Defense Department hardware and software development projects in gravitational radar tracking, ordinance, space flight, structural and propulsion analysis and laser technology, he began a developmental effort resulting in the technology and products illustrated within this web site.
